More the number of clicks and impressions you get, better you earn. This method saves time and effort as compared to approaching advertisers directly. However, the third parties take a commission for mediating between advertisers and publishers.

  2. Direct Advertisers

    Unlike in the previous option, on can earn money from blog by displaying ads of an advertiser who directly approaches you, or whom you approach directly without any third party’s involvement. This drops the extra expense in terms of commission to third party. But on the other end, it is not as easy to find direct advertisers. You will have to wait until your blog ranks better and grabs good traffic. The kind of advertisers you alliance with, and the amount you make from this method depends on the quality of the blog and the way you pitch your offer.

  3. Sponsored Posts

    This is yet another way of advertising, with the only difference that advertising is done indirectly through blog’s content. You get paid to write an article and place a external link within the post. This link takes the reader to the advertiser’s webpage where he tries to convert your traffic into his lead. Finding this type of opportunity is not hard if your blog is a reputed one.  Some places where you can find such paid posting offers are PayPerPost , SponsoredReviews , Social Spark.

  4. Affiliate Marketing

    Once you establish yourself as a trustworthy person through community involvement with your blog, you can cash the trustworthiness by promoting your affiliate products tactfully. But this has to be done with utmost care for your readers and followers. If done otherwise, chances are that you will destroy your credibility beyond repair. Some agencies that let  you affiliate with brads are – ClickBank, Commission Junction and Amazon Affiliates.

  5. Accept Donation

    If you strive to put the best content that really adds value to your readers and helps them is a specific way, you can consider seeking donation in return for your time and effort for doing so. PayPal makes its easy to place a ‘Donate’ button that lets your readers credit your PayPal account.

  6. Paid Memberships

    You can create a membership area for your blog, which can be accessed only on payment. You can have some relevant goodies in store for your paid members which lures them to pay and join you.

  7. E – Commerce

    Your site can be used to sell some of your stuff too. Sites like CafePress make it extremely easy to start you own online store which you can use to sell your product on your blog. Such sites manage almost everything related to the sales, from managing mailing list to product shipping. In return, they keep a percentage of your sale amount.

  8. Niche Specific Services

    You must be proficient in something related to your niche. That is why you choose to blog in that niche. But not all your visitors know what you know and hence you can offer them a service pertaining to your niche. For instance, a graphic design blogger can offer graphic design service and a food blogger can offer cooking classes.

      Yes it is a bit odd, but not in all cases. It depends on the niche you choose to blog about too.

      Consider a blog in that teaches some divine things like performing some religious rituals, or a blog that teaches people computer hardware/troubleshooting to an extent that the reader can be self employed in that field. I guess in such cases donation does not seem that odd.

    As of now, Sponsor posting/Paid posting and Direct advertising are the major one.

    Pro-Bloggers are avoiding Google adsense as adsense pays less as compared to above mentioned.

    I didn’t know about sponsored posts, good idea. I would say good-old affiliate marketing is the best way to learn from your own blog, by far. Getting donations is surely not a good business model to rely on :D

  5. I think Paid membership is risky nowadays because according to Google paid links are not natural backlinks that’s this kind technique are not effective for your site.

  9. Definitely great ways to earn money from our blog. I prefer to use Buy sell ads for direct advertising and Google adsense as ad campaign. Infolinks is also paying me good. I also use affiliate market products from flipkart and ebay, so overall money making is very good.
